Mailchimp + Elido — branded short links in every email campaign
Replace Mailchimp's default link shortener with your own branded Elido domain. Forward opens and clicks to Elido analytics for full attribution. OAuth2 — connect in under a minute.
What you can do
Branded emails, unified analytics
How it works
Bidirectional — Elido shortens outbound, Mailchimp sends events back
The data flow has two directions. Elido shortens links in the campaign editor before the email is sent (outbound). When recipients open or click, Mailchimp forwards those events to Elido as conversion records (inbound). Together they give you full-funnel attribution from click to campaign.

Setup guide
Three steps to branded campaign links
- 1Connect via OAuth
Click 'Connect Mailchimp' in /dashboard/conversions. Mailchimp's OAuth screen opens — pick the audience to attach Elido to and approve the scopes.
- 2Enable auto-shorten in the campaign editor
Mailchimp campaign editor → Edit Tracking → enable 'Use my own short-link service' → pick Elido from the dropdown.
- 3Map opens and clicks
/dashboard/conversions → Mailchimp → set which Mailchimp event (open, click) creates an Elido conversion record. Save and send your campaign.
Authentication
OAuth2 — scoped, revocable access
The Mailchimp integration uses OAuth2. You are redirected to Mailchimp's authorization screen where you pick the specific audience to attach. You approve the read and write scopes — Mailchimp issues a scoped access token and a refresh token to Elido. The access token is encrypted at rest. Refresh tokens roll automatically on expiry. You can revoke access at any time from Mailchimp's Connected Apps page or from /dashboard/conversions in Elido. No Mailchimp password is ever stored.
Frequently asked questions
Does Elido see my Mailchimp subscriber data?+
No. Elido requests read and write scopes to enable auto-shortening and attribution forwarding, but it does not read subscriber email addresses, contact data, or campaign content beyond what is needed to shorten URLs.
What OAuth scopes does the Mailchimp flow request?+
Elido requests read and write scopes from Mailchimp. Read is used to fetch campaign metadata (campaign name, send date) for attribution. Write is used to enable the custom short-link service in the campaign editor.
How do I revoke Elido's access to Mailchimp?+
Go to your Mailchimp account → Account & Billing → Connected sites or Integrations → find Elido → Disconnect. You can also remove it from Elido's side at /dashboard/conversions → Mailchimp → Remove.
Can I use Elido for only some Mailchimp campaigns?+
Yes. Auto-shortening is per-campaign in Mailchimp's editor. You enable it manually in the campaign's tracking settings. You can leave other campaigns using Mailchimp's default shortener.
What attribution data flows back to Elido?+
Mailchimp sends email open and click events. Elido records these as conversion events attributed to the short link that was clicked. You can see them in /dashboard/conversions with the Mailchimp campaign name and send date.
